The Law Office of James Stanislaw is committed to providing creative and practical legal advice to businesses and individuals. We have considerable contacts and dealings with the international sector, and we have a keen awareness of the increasing internationalization of the business world. We maintain corresponding office relationships with several firms around the world. From this vantage point, we stand ready to serve our clients in an era of globalization.
WHAT WE DO
We offer an extensive range of legal services. Although the main focus of our practice is in the area of tax planning, estate planning, and general business transactions, it also encompasses tax compliance, representation in tax audits, and tax litigation. We also function as outside general counsel for a number of our business clients.
Many of our clients are located abroad, including Japan, Southeast Asia, and the European Community. Many others are foreign companies and nationals doing business in the United States. Because we believe in community service, in addition to providing legal services for paying clients, we also actively participate in pro bono and reduced fee programs administered by various organizations. These include programs geared towards acting as legal counsel to nonprofit groups in the arts, lower income individuals, and start-up companies.

We strive to provide counsel and services that are tailored to each client's needs and desires. To this end, we go beyond the bounds traditionally associated with law firms by devoting nonbillable time to learning about the client's business; our goal is that each project undertaken is initiated with a clear understanding of the client's particular situation and objectives. In this manner, we strive to emphasize practical advice and solutions to problems, rather than giving legal counsel in a factual vacuum.
While our clients range in size from individuals and small start-up companies to business enterprises with annual revenues in excess of several million dollars, our philosophy remains the same: We are committed to providing nothing short of excellence in our service.
