They have tried over 50 federal cases and litigated over 35 federal appeals. The firm's principals have handled criminal matters involving criminal tax, environmental laws (including the Clean Water Act, CERCLA and RCRA), violations of the federal food and drug laws, Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO), Continuing Criminal Enterprise (CCE), mail fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, federal securities, computer crimes, narcotics and violent crimes.
The firm's principals also have handled the defense of matters before regulatory agencies, including civil enforcement actions brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for insider trading and other violations of the federal securities laws.
Commercial Civil Litigation: The firm's principals both have practiced civil litigation with large, nationally recognized firms in New York City, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. They have handled a range of commercial civil disputes arising out of allegations of fraud or other misconduct, including suits for civil fraud in connection with the sale of securities by an investment advisor and for bankruptcy fraud in connection with a large check-kiting operation. In addition, the firm's principals have handled more routine commercial disputes, such as breach of contract and franchise agreements.
